Muhurta: choosing when to begin

When you know what you want to start, timing becomes a more focused question. I use muhurta, the event-timing branch of Jyotish, to compare possible dates and times within your actual planning window.

A watch and calendar, choosing the timing of an event

For an event with a choice of timing

You may be arranging a wedding, planning a move, registering a business, signing an agreement or launching a project. Muhurta is useful when there is a defined event and some flexibility about when it can happen.

The reading starts with practical constraints: the location, available dates and hours, and commitments that cannot change. Those details establish the window within which I can compare options.

Events we can consider

  • A wedding or engagement, taking both partners’ charts into account.
  • A move, emigration or the start of a journey.
  • Company registration, a business opening, or a project or website launch.
  • A property or vehicle purchase.
  • The signing of an important agreement.
  • Beginning a course of study or another significant undertaking.

What the selection involves

I examine the available interval and the astrological conditions of possible starting moments in relation to the nature of the event. I also consider the birth chart of the person, or the charts of the couple, concerned.

This makes the work different from consulting a general list of auspicious days. A proposed time needs to be relevant to the people and the specific beginning being planned.

What you receive

You receive the selected date-and-time options with a written explanation of their astrological context. The aim is to make the reasoning clear enough to consider alongside your real-world arrangements.

Timing is one part of preparation. It does not replace sound agreements, practical readiness or the actions of the people involved, and it cannot guarantee the outcome of an undertaking.

Preparing your request

  1. Describe the event and clarify which action marks its beginning: a ceremony, registration, signature or launch.
  2. Specify the location, possible date range and any restrictions on days or hours.
  3. Provide the relevant birth details and note uncertainties.
  4. We agree the scope and fee before the work begins.

Price is available on request. English is not my native language, so the English consultation and explanation are provided exclusively in writing.

Choosing time rather than place

Muhurta concerns a specific starting moment. A year-ahead forecast explores a wider period, while astrocartography compares locations. If those decisions are still open, describe your situation so the appropriate scope can be clarified.

For a planned medical procedure, the clinician determines the medically acceptable timing. Urgent care should never be delayed for an astrological date selection.

Questions before booking

Is muhurta the same as electional astrology?

Muhurta is the traditional Jyotish approach to choosing an appropriate moment for an event. The consultation follows that Vedic context and considers the relevant birth charts.

Can you help select a wedding date?

Yes. I consider the event, the available dates and the birth charts of the couple.

What if there are only a few possible dates?

List the constraints in your request. I will clarify whether a meaningful comparison can be made within that window.

Why is the event location needed?

The selected moment needs a defined place and local time. These are part of the preparation.

Does a selected time guarantee success?

No. It does not remove the importance of preparation, practical circumstances and the choices of the people involved.

What is the fee and delivery format?

The fee is agreed on request once the scope is clear. The English-language consultation is exclusively written.
